Is God Part of Your Marketing Strategy? Part 1

May 3rd, 2008 by kaimcewen

By Jesse Boland Is this a stupid question? Absolutely not, the reason God MUST become part of your business is widely apparent, but not always practiced by new business owners. The fact that God is key to your success as a business owner can be demonstrated by revealing the fact that the vast majority of successful entrepreneurs’ business success is linked to their individual beliefs in God. When I got started marketing on the Internet, God was not part of my business and did not play a large part in my life either. Not surprisingly I struggled and nearly quit my home based business. I was in business to get rich, not to help people. However, since then, as I have pursued and become more successful in various high income business opportunities, God has become more and more prevalent in my work and life. In my relationships with highly successful Internet business owners (my personal mentors) a common thread has become apparent that each of these individuals, without exception, has an unshakable belief in God. Why is this? What is it that makes these highly successful people believe in God and how can your own beliefs help you become successful in business and life too? What role does God play to help you become successful running your own business? I’d like to explore this common thread and give you some easily applicable techniques to integrate faith into your business strategy without being bombastic or fanatical. Why would you want to integrate God into your business strategy anyway? It’s simple. Success only truly comes when you work from your soul. William Blake, the English poet and artist says, “I myself do nothing. The Holy Spirit accomplishes all through me.” If you can begin to see your personal creativity as God’s voice speaking through you, you will be a giant step closer to seeing your business explode. If you can train yourself to organize your business and spark creative ideas for your business through the conception of God prodding you on and driving you toward loftier goals and accomplishments than you ever dreamed possible. This has been called many things including “divine purpose.” The poet Dylan Thomas provides an excellent definition of “divine purpose” that we can use, “the force that through the green fuse drives the flower.” Do you think the flower has any concept of what it’s ultimate goal in life is? Do you? Does the flower stop growing just because it doesnt have the perfect amount of water or sunlight? Are you going to stop pursuing your purpose just because you are struggling in your business or your life? If you are not pursuing your true aspirations of being a highly successful business owner, or you are a business owner who is constantly searching for a new EASY way to make money on the Internet, you are NOT listening to God or your “ultimate purpose.” BUSINESS SUCCESS IS NOT EASY. You must use your common sense here. Why do you think 98% of home businesses never make one red cent? Because they are marketing the wrong product? No! If you are marketing your business the right way you can sell sand to a camel and have hundreds of customers lining up to buy again and again. Home based business owners fail because they don’t receive the right training and mentorship to run a highly successful business, they lose their commitment and they quit. The keys to your business success are: 1. Integrate God Into Your Business Strategy. 2. Find a Support System. Seek Out Mentors and Colleagues Who Encourage and Support You to Achieve Your Goals. Find People Who Have Attained a Level of Success that You Hope To Replicate and Model Your Business Strategy After Theirs. 3. Stay Motivated and Committed to Your “Divine Purpose” in Business. The formula to success is simple and intuitive when you break it down. If you can turn your business over to Gods proven desire to see you succeed and can trust in a higher power to guide you along your path to business success, you will have hurdled the biggest obstacle that most new business owners face: the temptation to quit their business when confronted by difficulties, setbacks (i.e. lack of results). If you can simply believe in your “divine purpose” your business is no longer yours to quit, it is God’s; you have been put in charge of your business not simply by and for your self, but to fulfill the will of God’s plan for you and desire to see you succeed. If you can begin to feel God in your everyday business activities, hardships will never cause you to doubt your ultimate goal, setbacks will only strengthen your resolve, and small successes will only prod you to achieve more. Entrepreneurs are a different sort of folk. Though they tend to be driven and skilled workers, entrepreneurs don’t tend to make the best employees because they are constantly looking for better ways to do things and solve the problems presented to them by their jobs. Translate your feelings of dissatisfaction in your job to a mind-set that God is telling you that there are bigger plans for you. More on God’s role in your business strategy in next weeks article. Let me leave you with a quote from The Work of The Chariot: “When a Man Takes One Step Toward God. God Takes More Steps Toward That Man Than There Are Sands in the World’s of Time.” Take that step in your business strategy this week and see how your life changes. Any Job is an Honorable Job

May 1st, 2008 by kaimcewen

By Teresa Proudlove Seeing your job as an honorable job, adds more meaning and peace to your life. Also, seeing the honor in what you do now, creates an ideal foundation upon which a career change can be built. At fifteen, my first job was that of a waitress at a local truck stop. One day, back then, I happened to meet the elementary principal of my past. She mentioned she had heard I was working part time and wondered at what. Shamefacedly I mumbled, “Oh, I am just a waitress.” That wise, old, stern headmistress said to me, “Teresa, any job is an honorable job. Don’t you ever forget it!” And I never have. Of course, seeing the honor in our job is not always an easy task. Societal Values Demean our Work & Worth Our societal values make it difficult to honor so-called menial jobs. Our sick societal values esteem big bank accounts, fancy houses, new cars, extended paid vacations, prestigious jobs, beautiful, youthful looks, and perfectly cloned behaviors. These societal values wring the worth from the vast majority of hard-working folk. Create your own values by looking for the honor and worth in your work now. Any honest day’s work is honorable and worthy. Finding the honor and goodness in everything you do builds dignity and honor within you. Even if you wanted to career change but instead returned to the field you had hoped to leave, remember, there is huge honor and courage in this. Taking care of your family and responsibilities does not mean you are a failure. It means you are a responsible, caring human being. If you cannot find any worth in your current job, that lack of worth will likely haunt your career change. Before jumping jobs, seeking fulfillment elsewhere, consider your current job as sacred work. Your Job as Sacred Work Monastic writers have described their day-to-day, menial work as the path to holiness. Your job is much more than a means to pay bills. Try envisioning your job as your ministry. I have a very health conscious, spiritual friend who, at this moment in her life, sells lottery tickets, liquor and cigarettes in a liquor store to help pay her bills. Rather than bitterly resent her position, she has made it her ministry to create a positive atmosphere, giving kindness and care to every human being that passes through those doors. Not surprisingly, wonderful little miracles occur often. (And yes, she is also doing the groundwork to create new employment.) Rarely are things what they seem to be on the surface. In every relationship, in every job, and in every life experience there is much more going on than meets the eye. “The three foundations of spirituality: hearth as altar, work as worship and service as sacrament.” A Compilation of Triads, Volume I John F. Wright We are always being called to see the bigger picture and to grow nearer to our soul. To find more meaning within the work you do now, query your soul as to the larger view. Ask Your Soul Try sitting quietly for awhile. Practice letting go of passing thoughts while lightly noticing your breath coming in and going out. Relax your body and mind. Ask your soul, “What is my work really about. What work am I really doing here?” When I had grown weary of facilitating the same career assessment program for nine years, I sat and asked my soul this same question. Within the whisper of my small, still voice I heard the truth, “You are bringing light and hope to people.” The work I was doing was not about self assessment tools or job search but about bringing light and hope to people. From that day onward the program was no longer repetitive for me and as I gained more depth and meaning in my work, so did the program. When we see our work as sacred and honorable, we feel good about what we are doing and who we are. This goodness spins off into our family, workplace and ultimately the world. This also, builds an ideal foundation for career change, if we so desire. From honoring ourselves and our current work we can then successfully begin taking small steps towards change. How To Talk About Feelings With Your Life Partner

April 28th, 2008 by kaimcewen

By Sasha LeBaron Three T Communication When it comes to talking about feelings don’t forget that everyone has them, only some don’t feel comfortable sharing them. And, when it comes to men, just the thought of talking about feelings is enough to drive them to the remote control, the den or Moe’s Tavern! So, how do successful life partners communicate when it comes to the tender parts of our hearts we call feelings? How do we break down the feeling barrier between men and women? After reading hundreds of books, investing thousands on training and years of personal experience I have found that simply using what I call the Three T communication can dramatically improve the chances of a successful feelings communication. Time, Trust and Truth Number One: Time Don’t try to talk about feelings when you are in a rush or when one partner is stressed about something else. Wait until you have time alone, where you won’t be disturbed to bring up the subject of feelings with your life partner. You can even take the phone off the hook or go for a walk. Most people fail in the feeling conversation simply because they don’t invest enough time. Remember, it can take some time for most men and even for some women to connect and feel ready to share real feelings. Number Two: Trust For me to open up I need to know that I won’t be hurt with any information I share. So, when talking about feelings, always accept your partners feelings as individual to him or her. Not absolutes that make him or her bad good or anything else. Remember, feelings are very personal and some may not pretty. Do not allow your own feelings to get in the way of clear communication. Build trust by simply accepting your life partner’s feelings, no matter what they are. Don’t forget, it takes trust to share feelings and if that trust is not respected you may never get an honest feeling conversation started again. Number Three: Truth Always tell the truth! Never lie, obscure or manipulate when it comes to feelings in a relationship. You may get away with it for a time but, as 80% of communication is non-verbal, you will never totally succeed in hiding your true feelings. Remember, we all have feelings we aren’t proud of. Don’t you remember wishing your parents were dead when you were 6? Tell the truth and keep an open non-judging mind and you will be rewarded in the feeling conversation. You must tell your truth first! When you want your life partner to open up about feelings you have to put your cards on the table first! Don’t expect people, men especially, to be first off the mark when it comes to feelings. Most men find it strange enough talking about feelings in the first place! When you first share your feelings from the heart, you will find that your partner is then much more willing to share his (or hers) with you. Use the preceding as a guide when it comes to a successful conversation about feelings. Don’t rush, build trust and always tell your truth first. By using the Three T communication template you will find that your life partner relationship will improve, your stress levels will be reduced and your other conversations will improve too, even if feelings aren’t even involved! What are the Advantages of Using Debit Cards

April 24th, 2008 by kaimcewen

By Morgan Hamilton Are you one of those people who are now scrambling to get debit cards? If you arent, then let me tell you a few things about these cards. These cards are often tied in with a major credit card so you can use them like a credit card. However, you can only spend the amount of money you actually have with this card. This card is also tied into your checking account. The basic idea behind debit cards is to reduce the need to write checks. These cards fit right in with everything quickly becoming paperless these days. These cards can also be your ATM card. You will not receive additional charges for a cash advance as long as you use it at your banks ATM because you are actually taking your own money out of the bank. This type of card look very similar to a credit card and usually only the person using the card knows that it is not a credit card. You can distinguish between a credit card and these cards in a few different ways. For instance, you will notice that the bank logo and the word debit are on the card. The most significant difference between the two is the way the cards work and where the money comes from. You can use debit cards as either a debit card or credit card, while credit cards can only be used as a credit card. Debit cards also do not carry a line of credit. The purchases you can make with this type of card cannot exceed the amount of money that you have in your bank account. The risk involved is another major difference between credit and debit cards. You will have a lot of problems if you lose your card. Losing debit cards is very risky because they are attached to your bank account. A thief can easily drain your bank account because a pin number is not required to use these cards. On the other hand, the only problem with losing a credit card is proving that someone else used the card. On the other hand, you have figure out how to get your money back with a debit card. The legal liability is much greater with these cards than with a credit card. Of course, you can also benefit from the advantages of using these cards. Debit cards gives you the freedom to use it anywhere credit cards are accepted. These cards eliminate the hassle of having to write a check and showing some sort of identification. These cards are also easy to use and are accepted in a large variety of places. These cards are also more convenient than checks or an ATM. Nevertheless, you have to use these cards carefully and make sure that you keep it in a safe place because there are also some risks involved. Swarovski History

April 19th, 2008 by kaimcewen

By John Soulier The following article includes historial information that may cause you to reconsider what you thought you understood about the crystal maker, Swarovski. Swarovski is a family owned business, that started in 1895. Daniel Swarovski, the founder, was considered to be a leader in the field of technology, and industry . He came from Bohemia, and had a glass cutting industry that had been renowned for centuries. His father taught him the craft of crystal cutting at an early age. A visit to the first International Exhibition in Exhibition in Vienna inspired him to design an automatic jewelry cutting cutting machine. He then leased an old factory to put his invention to use. The surrounding mountains provided his rapidly expanding operation an abundant an abundant source of clean hydroelectric power. Daniel Swarovski actually founded the company with the help of his brother-in-law, Franz Weis, and financier Armand Kosmann. The superior quality of their jewelry stones soon made them well known in Paris and in America. Daniel Swarovski (1862-1956) stated some very profound words to his peers, colleagues, employees and family, “…every age brings with it new vocations and new forms of self-expression. The important thing is to remain alert, to exploit opportunities as they arise and to put them to the best possible use. But no matter how successful you are, you will be unable to sustain it unless you try to think of your fellow man too…if you try to keep your eyes firmly on the main objective and put your personal interests behind you, your future will be assured.” Swarovski strives to be an ‘ecology’ minded company, to keep the environment clean; in fact, Daniel Swarovski II once summarized his quest for technologies that were in harmony with the significance of the product and nature: “Our main product, crystal, is a reminder to keep our environment clean”. The company grew over the years even with the outbreak of WW I. Many workers enlisted for military service. Swarovski produced military equipment. Many new inventions and product lines were beginning to develop when WW II broke out and again Swarovski manufactured optics. The production of abrasive and technical products saved the factory from being closed. Swarovski produced binoculars for the armed forces. Swarovski binoculars and telescopes are considered the best in the world for their high quality and precision optic capability You can see that there’s practical value in learning more about swarovski. Can you think of ways to apply what’s been covered so far? In 1973, Swarovski broke new ground and the first items for the 12th Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria were created. The items were a key chain and a paperweight commemorating the event. The following year, a mouse was created by Max Shreck. It was considered a wonderful ‘accident’ that component chandelier pieces could make figurines. The first Annual Edition piece, the Lovebirds, was created by Max Schreck and Adi Stocker in 1987. More animal figurines were created; elegant candleholders were added, followed by decorative accessories - Swarovski Silver Crystal was born! The early logo was a block SC and in later years they changed it to the current Swan logo. It was in the early 1980’s that the Trimlite product line was also launched in the US. Trimlite was manufactured by an outside vendor with Swarovski chandelier parts. The Trimlite line only lasted a few years and each piece is marked with a ‘T’ logo and the year made. The series is highly prized for gold plated pieces and the many interesting designs. There was also an early relationship with a company, Ebeling & Reuss, that also had pieces manufactured by Swarovski specifically for them. Those pieces were also US items only and carry an ‘E&R’ script logo on the bottom of each piece. Another early line was Giftware Suite which created more functional items, such as the desk accessories, some ornaments and other pieces. Some had the SC logo and some did not. There was also a small line of children’s figurines done in 1992, Julia’s World, that was a US item only. The 8 figurines of frosted children plus a dog and a bench - came with a book that told Julia’s story. This set is now being recognized as an interesting addition to collectors worldwide as so few were made and only in the US. Each year Swarovski creates a new Annual Edition for collectors. The series are in trilogies, the first one, ‘Caring and Sharing’ began with the Lovebirds, the next edition was the Woodpeckers and the last piece was the Turtledoves. Each piece came in a special box with a Certificate of Authenticity. The next series was ‘Mother and Child’ - followed by ‘Inspiration Africa’, ‘Fabulous Creatures’, ‘Masquerade’ and the ‘Magic of Dance’ launched in 2002. Additionally, through the years, many crystal figurines were made in the Silver Crystal line along with candleholders, paperweights and numerous creations that all carry the specific logo of Swarovski. The early logo was the SC in a block form and more recently the Swan logo. If a piece does not have either of these logos, it most likely is not Swarovski. That being said, there were some authentic pieces done that did not carry either logo but are considered Swarovski and indeed are. Now that wasn’t hard at all, was it? And you’ve earned a wealth of knowledge of Swarovski history, just from taking some time to study an expert’s word on swarovski. Wedding Shoes: Completing Your Bridal Outfit

April 16th, 2008 by kaimcewen

By Jeanette Shinn Youve lived your wedding day right down to the wedding shoes in your mind everyday since you were a girl. In your mind youve planned every detail. Nothing is forgotten. Your wedding shoes match your wedding gown perfectly. Your hair is exquisite Finally, to your great joy, that day is quickly approaching and you actually have to find those wedding shoes I don’t have to remind you how important finding the right pair of wedding shoes is to make your bridal outfit complete. You need your shoes to match or compliment your wedding dress perfectly. Thats why you want bridal shoes that were designed to be dyed so that your shoes will match your bridal outfit as well in real life as they do in your dreams. Choosing Bridal Shoes The task of choosing your bridal shoes both a simple and complex proposition. Its simple in that your choice is really a matter of what you like and what footwear makes you feel beautiful. At the same time, there are a number of factors that you might want to consider when you choose your wedding shoes. For example, if you are exceptionally tall or your husband to be is exceptionally short you might want to choose a bridal shoe with little or no heel. Likewise, if you are particularly short you probably will want a high heel. Another factor which might not be so obvious is how the length of your wedding dress impacts your wedding shoe choices. For example, if your dress is shorter you might want to choose a shoe with a heel because high heels tend to make your leg appear longer and leaner. On the other hand, if your dress is so long that people will rarely see your bridal shoes and the height issue is not a problem then your choice might be to opt for shoes that are more comfortable like a slipper or a sandal or even a barefoot sandal where you would have the comfort of going without shoes, but when your dress does reveal your feet your guests see the jewels of the barefoot sandal (this is an exceptional choice for garden or beach weddings too). Of course, whatever you choose as your wedding footwear, you are going to be on your feet a lot on your wedding day. Often the wedding day is a long day after youve put on your wedding shoes when you take into consideration the ceremony, the time with your wedding photographer, and the reception, so make a point of wearing your new bridal shoes enough before your wedding day so that you will be totally comfortable in them on your wedding day. Of course, take care that you only wear them around the house where you wont risk scuffing them and thereby undoing all the work you put into finding the perfect pair of wedding shoes for your bridal ensemble. Eating The Foods That Promote Weight Loss

April 14th, 2008 by kaimcewen

By Andrew Bicknell People have tried all sorts of ways to lose weight in their never ending battle with their expanding midsection. There are fad diets that seem to pop up weekly, metabolism boosting pills and diet supplements, and all sorts of Fat Busting exercise machine being pedaled on TV infomercials. Many times we get taken in by all the hype only to find out that what is being advertised does not quite mesh with reality. The truth is that if we give our body the nutrients that it needs by eating healthy foods that promote weight loss our chances of successfully losing weight are much greater. What happens when we eat healthy nutritious food? Our bodies respond by increasing our metabolism, which in turn helps to promote weight loss. Now while this is rather simplified and weight loss can require a little more commitment as far as exercising and eating the right foods, the fact is that eating right is the best way if you want to increase your metabolism and lose weight. Understanding how our body’s use and store energy is an important point to understand when it comes to metabolism. Our cells metabolize energy from the protein, carbohydrates and fats that we eat. These energy sources come in many different forms and our body’s metabolism is affected by what forms we get them from. In the case of fats our bodies have very little trouble converting them directly into fat stores for future use. Because fats tend to get sent directly to fat storage the body doesn’t use much energy, or calories, quickly storing them away as fat. The majority of most people’s diets consist of refined or processed foods. These are known as simple carbohydrates and they usually come from foods that include refined sugars. The body tends to use little energy processing these refined sugars and easily turns them into fat. Eating to much refined sugars is known to lead to insulin resistance, which is a affliction in which the bodys cells begin to conflict with insulin’s ability to let glucose to enter the cells for metabolic functions. This leads to raised blood sugar which the body will change to fat storage. When trying to increase metabolism it is vital to eat foods that are high in complex carbohydrates and proteins, which will help promote weight loss. The energy required to break down proteins and complex carbohydrates is much higher than the calories required to metabolize processed foods. Eating nutritious foods that promote weight loss results in more calories being burned just to digest and metabolize the nutrients in them. Foods that promote weight loss and are high in complex carbohydrates also have the ability to increase metabolism in another way. The body’s digestive system must work more briskly to digest the critical nutrients in complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates and sugars require much less energy to transform for the body’s digestive system. This longer lasting digestive process allows the energy in complex carbohydrates to be used as a more balanced energy source. This balanced energy release gives our body’s the calories it needs during the course of the day without the never-ending need to partake of sweet sugary foods. It also results in less insulin being released into the blood stream which is key to living a healthy life. The energy spikes caused by sugary and fatty foods create high and low energy periods which tempt us into eating more foods that are not only unhealthy but also add to existing fat stores.
